The overall responsibilities of the Director of Alternative Sales is achievement of sales targets, drive sales development and management of sales team for B2B, QVC, WP and CG businesses. The ideal candidate must be have the ability to lead, motivate, sales goal oriented, prioritize in a fast paced environment, have adaptability & flexibility to address each business, strong communication skills, very organized, detail-oriented with entrepreneurial spirit and attitude.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
• Design and implement sales strategies to ensure that overall budget objectives are met in the short, medium and long term
• Responsible for the US B2B, QVC, Web Partners, Corporate Gift full P&Ls
o Make sure sales targets are achieved
o Make sure expenses are kept under control
• Oversee sales team that are dedicated to different category
o Coach sales associates
o Support them in sales initiatives
o Motivate them
• Act as account executive for large clients when needed
o Manage relationship with Senior clients
o Act as senior contact in L’Occitane
• Ensure the availability of product for all B2B, QVC, Web Partners and Corporate accounts
o Interact with sales associates so that forecasts are accurate
o Interact with Planning, Forecasting & headquarters (France) to make sure forecasts are updated and followed through
o Interact with the distribution center to make ensure adequate inventory levels are kept
o Interact with other departments providing services to Alternative Sales (Marketing, Supply Chain, IT)
• Product introductions / ordering
o Provide feedback to headquarters on new products required by US market
o Oversee the ordering of new products
• Special projects
o Project manage the creation of the new selling tools (catalogs, etc)
o Select and attend adequate selling venues (trade shows, etc)
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 5-7 years of work experience required
• 2-3 of team management experience required
• Hotel industry experience a plus, but not required
• Luxury / beauty industry experience required
• Excellent communications and customer service skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office with strengths in Excel
• Strong networking skills
• Entrepreneurial, Energetic, Proactive
• Strong people skills
• Very organized
• Team player
