Director of Pharmacy

As Director of Pharmacy you’ll provide overall leadership for the Children’s Hospital Pharmacy department by developing goals, objectives, policies and procedures; supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the activities; preparing operating and capital expenditure budgets; and performing personnel administration functions. Additional responsibilities include:
# Comprehensive management of Pharmacy programs and services
# Ensure timely dispensing of drug products and consultations
# Determine and uphold staffing and service standards
# Work with Corporate Services to manage compounding, chemotherapy, technician issues, informatics, research and contract services to gain bulk purchase pricing
# Personnel Management
# Delegate tasks and special projects to appropriate staff
# Enforce policies/procedures
# Provide continuing education opportunities for staff
# Develop programs for recruitment and retention of staff
# Participate in department and organizational performance improvement activities
# Identify ways to improve service and clinical practice
# Utilize PM&I (quality and safety program) to identify appropriate metrics to monitor and department issues to resolve
# Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to identify opportunities to improve quality/standard of care
# Round on internal and external customers to maintain and improve satisfaction
# Attend PM&I Council, and other task forces as requested, on regular basis
# Fiscal Management and Accountability
# Prepare and manages to the operating budget, capital equipment and project request list
# Use systems available to analyze and monitor financial and payroll data
# Demonstrate prudent resource utilization
This full-time position requires a bachelor’s degree, 8 years of experience, and a current pharmacist license. Pediatric pharmacy experience preferred.
