Pipeworks is looking for a VFX (Visual Effects) Artist to amp up the effects in all of our titles. The VFX artist is responsible for the design and creation of 2D & 3D effects and to perform other arcane tasks with our particle editor.
Responsibilities
* Utilizing both commercial and proprietary software tools, create visually stunning 2D & 3D effects in a real time, multiplatform game development environment
* Build and animate 3D objects to represent in-game destruction events
* Effects include rigid/soft body dynamics, particles and shaders to simulate effects of explosions, smoke, fire, steam, fog, etc.
* Collaborate with art and design teams on game engine capabilities and limitations to achieve highest quality effects
* Design and create in-game and pre-rendered special effects and post production work
* Create technical documents and tutorials
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of experience in game development experience
* Excellent working knowledge of at least one major 3D software package (Maya, XSI, 3DS Max, etc.)
* Skilled in 3D graphics, particle systems, dynamics, shaders and relevant commercial software applications
* Ability to quickly master proprietary tools and development processes
* Strong ability with Maxscript or MEL
* Experience in working with shaders
* A passion for video games
Pluses
* Experience with Max, Max Script and Motion Builder
* Possess a exceptional sense of timing and style
* B.A. or equivalent degree preferred
