Package Designer

Tyco R/C is a leader in radio controlled mass-market vehicles. The Tyco R/C division of Mattel, Inc., is looking for a talented graphic designer to join its packaging team. The ideal candidate will have strong art direction and graphic design skills, with experience in consumer products packaging. A positive attitude, iron-clad work ethic and strong communication/people skills are non-negotiable. This is a 40-hour a week position that is classified as “temporary”, but may lead to full-time employment for a rock-star designer.

Responsibilities:
Creating final artwork for mass production
Contributing ideas for concepts
Art Directing, including managing projects with internal, overseas and outside resources and ensuring timely delivery of mechanicals

Specific Skills

Skills:
High proficiency in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator CS2
Photo-Retouching skills
Capacity to create high-quality mock-ups by hand
2-4 years experience in mechanical production, with at least one year in packaging
Team player yet able to work independently
Flexibility and ability to thrive in fast paced environment
Attention to detail is a must
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Illustration and photography skills a plus
Can-do attitude
