This product team manager on the ARES 1 USPC contract will manage a Boeing and supplier team. This National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) led team develops solid rocket motors and pyrotechnic components and provides engineering support to NASA for system level design, development, test and integration; provides excellent visibility into the integration challenges and performance of modern human rated rocket systems; requires development of good customer relations and communication both inside and outside of the company to coordinate requirements and develop solutions; manages employees and first-level managers performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines; develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives; acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements; develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports; provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes; manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers. This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. US Citizenship Required. Job location is at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville AL. Preferred: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 14 to 19 years experience or either a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years experience.
