Postdoctoral Research Appointments in Theoretical Astronomy

The Institute of Astronomy (IoA) has at least one vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher in subject areas covered by the IoA's "Theoretical Astronomy" programme. The programme is broadly defined and incorporates much of the research undertaken by staff members: Aarseth, Challinor, Clarke, Efstathiou, Gough, Haehnelt, King, Lewis, McCarthy, Peiris, Pringle, Rees, Tout and Wyatt. The research includes the cosmic microwave background and the early universe, structure formation, accretion discs, star formation and evolution. Successful applicants will be expected to pursue independent research within the context of the overall programme and to develop a high degree of interaction with the faculty, postdoctoral researchers and research students.

 

The current salary scale is £25,888 to £33,780 p.a, depending on experience, plus superannuation benefits. University benefits are outlined at
